Zeeshan Hayat is an accomplished entrepreneur with over twenty years of experience spanning multiple industries. He focuses on crafting customized software solutions to help small and medium-sized enterprises navigate and address startup obstacles. He is also an influential philanthropist renowned for his impactful contributions to addressing food insecurity and homelessness. Alongside his wife, Karina Hayat, Zeeshan co-founded 100 Meals a Week in 2006, an initiative that began with a simple yet powerful goal: to provide holistic support to Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) community.
Under Zeeshan’s leadership, 100 Meals a Week has grown from a grassroots effort into a significant program delivering over 250,000 meals and offering essential services such as medical care, mental health support, and educational resources. His dedication to tackling the root causes of homelessness, including mental health and addiction issues, has been pivotal in shaping the program’s comprehensive approach.
In 2019, Zeeshan and Karina Hayat expanded their mission by establishing The Muslim Care Centre (MCC). MCC, in collaboration with multiple NGOs, has made notable contributions during the global pandemic, distributing over 600,000 meals to those in need. Zeeshan’s vision extends internationally, with 100 Meals a Week now reaching communities in Florida, Pakistan, Tanzania, and Morocco, reflecting his commitment to global outreach and impactful change.
